Social media has long since grown beyond a simple post of an image and text. Today’s social media includes many video types, styles, and lengths. Video can be produced so easily on your smartphone that everyone can be a video producer these days. So, it is no surprise that video content will continue to trend in 2023.
According to YouTube, users watch an impressive 1 billion hours of content daily. This means likely everyone watches YouTube every day! A sizable percentage of YouTube hours are consumer-generated, however, content made by large-scale businesses is also prevalent.
Long-form video platforms include Facebook Live, Vimeo, Instagram, and more! The potential for companies to reach their target audience is incredible with so many platforms to post your videos.
Many platforms offer short-form video content, they include YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Pinterest Idea Pins, Amazon, and Google Web Stories. Some of these options have recently emerged over the past few years, like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Another important trend is vertical video (portrait mode). Many social media experts say you need a vertical video-first approach in 2023. Did you know that more than 80% of all social media video viewers (Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok…) browse these platforms on their phones? Because of this, the vertical video trend is taking off. 2023 may be the year to jump aboard this trend.
